Also remember, it's recommended that all homes be checked for radon every 2 years as environmental conditions can cause radon levels to change with time.

There are three main types of radon mitigation systems. The most common type is a sub-slab suction system. The second is sub-membrane suction, used to mitigate crawlspace areas. Sometimes these systems are combined to treat homes with combination foundations and they are referred to as a combination system. The third type of radon mitigation system is a heat recovery ventilation system or (HRV). This system is used for very specialized radon issues. The design of a radon mitigation system should be based on the most effective system to lower the radon levels as much as possible. The appearance of the system should also be taken into consideration- and, in most cases, the system can be installed in a fashion that does not affect the appearance of the home or the way a person uses the home.
